Customer Story
For many years I have been looking for a GPS system that was easy to use, not complicated and not too technical. I found LBT’s vehicle trackers at the Orange County Auto Show. I knew it would be a great fit for us as it was really easy to use, and easy to put on the tow trucks. The vehicle trackers have made it easier to know if my drivers are with a customer, loading up a car, or how far away they from the next job. No longer do I have to harass the drivers, asking “where are you at”. This solution has helped me know where all of my drivers are located- instantly.

Now I can tell right away by clicking on the computer, iPhone, or iPad exactly how far away they are from an area, or if the driver has already finished with a customer. Having this solution has allowed me to communicate more accurate ETA’s to our customers by knowing exactly where each of my drivers are located in the field. Now I am able to know which driver is closest to dispatch to the next job.

The app on the phone and iPad is extremely useful as the owner to manage all of our drivers. Sometimes I will be on the road and will see my drivers passing by, now I can quickly see where they are going and what they are doing in that moment from my tablet. It’s especially helpful on days off see where they are located from the comfort of my own home. This tool it gives you that ease of mind that everything is operating seamlessly. Plus LBT has great overall customer service.

I once had one of my tow trucks stolen from Orange County and taken to Los Angeles. Not only did they steal my truck they started stealing other cars with my lift gate. If I had GPS at the time I would have been alerted that my truck was stolen, due to zoning alerts. I love that I can use zones to help put extra security on my vehicles so that when they leave the designated areas, I am notified by email or text message.

I hooked the third white wire on to the PTO. This has helped me out a lot because I now know how long my drivers are taking to hook up each car. I can now see if they are being efficient or if they are taking too long at a location. Plus this eliminates the ability for my employees to do any side calls. I trust all my drivers, they have been with me for many years; but in reality you never know what’s going to come or what’s going to happen.

When I first bought the trackers I didn’t expect them to also be used as a training tool to make our drivers more efficient. This added benefit has sharpened my drivers, as they are now even finding the flaws within themselves. I don’t use the trackers as a way to spy on my drivers; I use it as a way to become a better company.
