We strive to reduce our global impact through our products, manufacturing, energy conservation and recycling of materials.

Location Based Technologies takes the consideration of the environment in every core aspect of the company’s business decisions. From the product development, to manufacturing and packaging we strive to for responsible, energy and waste reducing practices. The core areas in which we focus are product design and packaging, manufacturing, corporate energy conservation and recycling.

The Product

Reducing our impact starts with our product lines. We strive to reduce the use of raw materials and increase the use of materials that carry high recycling properties in all our products. Not only do we set our own standards, we strive to exceed those set by energy and waste reducing programs such as ENERGY STAR®. When it comes to our packaging, we continue to commit to the use of recycled cardboards and environmentally friendly packaging materials and inserts. Our designers take pride in the amount of raw materials and space they can save through efficient designs. We are continually improving our design process to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.

Manufacturing

Location Based Technologies helps safe guards both the consumer and the environment by restricting the use of harmful compounds in our materials and manufacturing process. We take pride in our explicit limits with our manufacturing partners on the use of heavy metals and ozone corrupting substances throughout the process. It’s a win-win for our consumers and the environment.

Energy Conservation & Recycling

From the complete use of low-energy fluorescent lighting in our offices to the optimization of energy use of our propriety hardware and development tools, we take great pride in our working environment and its ability to minimize the impact on our world. We’ve implemented company-wide recycling programs to encourage and promote recycling both at work and at home. Our headquarters were design with abundant natural lighting to vastly reduce the use of electricity by 25%! All our computers, laptops and displays carry ENERGY STAR® ratings. We even implemented a company-wide “Ride-a-bike” program giving benefits and rewards to those who commute by bicycle. You’ll be surprised - 20 percent of all our staff regularly commutes by bicycle to work!
